Rapunzel

My friend was throwing her daughter a Tangled party and needed help with the cake. (this is my new favorite kids movie, so I was more than happy to help!) So I went over the day before the party and helped her with decorating it. It was pretty easy since she had already baked the cake and bought the Rapunzel doll for it. I just had to use the doll for reference on the dress.

Sweet Emma

My niece turned 3 and the only thing she asked for was butterflies on her cake. I had seen a cake made by sweetapolita that featured cake decorations made to look like paper/scrapbooking embellishments. I thought it was adorable and decided to use that on this cake.  It was a lot of fun to do and I hope to be able to try it again.

Guitar Graduation Cake

So, I made this back in May but haven't posted it yet. A lot has been happening around here. We found out that we are expecting baby #5 and spent the next few months finding a bigger house to fit our family, renting out our other house, and moving to another one. Add to that the start of another homeschooling year and posting photos of cakes has been way down on the priority list!

Anyhow, this was made for Hank who is a very talented musician and was graduating from high school. His mom surprised him with a cake of his guitar and decorations in his school colors (no, orange and blue is not my typical color combination!) He seemed to really like the cake and so did his friends who were there when I delivered it. I have to give my husband props on most of this cake. He helped with the guitar neck construction, cake board and tuner knobs. Couldn't have done it without him!

Sweet Dreams

A baby shower cake for an Indian couple expecting their first baby, a sweet little girl. The baby shower theme as night time/bed time stories.

Loved decorating the little baby. It's from a mold I have, but I got to add girly touches this time, a little ruffled diaper cover and a flowered headband. So cute!

The cake was a little 6" one that had 30 cupcakes that went with it.

Photos were taken by the clients husband. They were nice enough to share the beautiful photos with me!

Toothless the Dragon

So my son's 8th birthday was this weekend and he LOVES How to Train Your Dragon - especially Toothless. I had the duck cake due the same day and I had already bought him a toothless toy he wanted, so I figured, why stress myself out?! Instead of trying to sculpt Toothless I decided to use the toy. Yep, I took the easy way out.

He was happy, I was happy...good decision. :) (oh and ignore the uncovered cake board, another shortcut. My poor kids get the short end of the stick I'm afraid. I take shortcuts on their cakes that I would never do on someone else's!)

Bath Time

This was for a little boy's first birthday. Ended up having Happy Birthday Joshua on the top, but I didn't get a picture with that.

Bath time is Joshua's favorite activity, so a bath time cake was a good fit for him!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip cake with cookies and cream filling. Marshmallow fondant to cover and for accents. Duck is a rice crispy treat covered in MMF. I used white shimmer dust all over the cake.

Baby Crib

This cake was done for a baby shower for my friend. The crib rails are chocolate, and the baby is from a fondant mold (which I now love...I want to buy tons and tons of molds now!)
